THEN & NOW

Humble Beginnings

From humble beginnings, William Smith first realised his passion for tools and machinery while growing up on a dairy farm in Stewarton. It was from this that the first seeds of engineering were sewn and he went on to establish William Smith Engineering in 1969.

Back then, it was only one man and his workshop, where he started out fabricating slurry tankers, pumps and other agricultural machinery. Since then though, the company has enjoyed vast expansion and over the last four decades has developed into the large-scale engineering company you see today.

FAMILY RUN BUSINESS

While we have grown and evolved over the years, we have done so without ever straying from the original values of the company and, complimented by a skilled team of engineers, Wm Smith Engineering remains run by members of the Smith family.

TAKING PRIDE IN WHAT WE DO

We work passionately and tirelessly to deliver a bespoke service to our clients and uphold the the family name and reputation that has been forged over the years. Indeed, William himself is still very much a hands-on member of the team, and takes as much pride and care in his work as he did forty years ago.
